Spiritual development has been made too difficult to achieve naturally with the intellectual approaches we have
created to reach an experiential truth. Intuisdom aims directly at the gap left behind

The Secret to Spiritual Development and Awakening (I Kid You Not) Is...

Entirely in perception.

This is why it is possible for someone to awaken as a young child or without training. It is equally possible for someone to be stuck for years and have a sudden and profound breakthrough.  Just as easily, it is possible for a beginning student to move to an advanced level in a moment.

If you never come back to this site or learn another stitch about spiritual development from me, take this with you for the rest of your life:  It is not about trying harder, being better, loving yourself more or compassion. It is in the subtlest of shifts you could possibly imagine--in the recognition of things for what they are instead of what you think they are.  That's it.  That's all it is.

So, come on back whenever you want and I'll tell you the rest of the story...

Peace,

Anton Elohan

  1. Yes, precisely! When I recognize that I already am that which I seek, it's such a relief. Not a statement of perfection but of being perfectly at one and at peace with all of what is...except for a morning like this when the cat woke us with pitiful cries and I wanted to give her a vocal-chord-ectomy. Not my most enlightened moment, but thank God there will be another...and another...and another in which to be more awake and aligned with my natural self.

  2. It is what you believe it is.

  3. A little oblique, AW. (Clarify?) The truth is not in belief at all, but perhaps you meant that. Belief may appear to be truth, we may want it to be truth and it may even resemble truth, but it is not truth.

  5. This is beautiful! Spiritual awakenings are magical things, and sometimes very unpredictable. I feel as though it happens mostly when you decide for it to happen, although not always on a conscious level. A big part of this is letting God, life, nature, whatever it is that one chooses to call it, in and taking control of things that you normally want to guide yourself. A man who understands this concept very well is George Fellendorf. I feel as though you'd enjoy his blog, so here's the link http://fellendorf.wordpress.com/

Thank you so much for sharing

  6. Well said, Anton.
It's not about the effort, it's about "quality" of the effort.
    This quote, makes it obious:
The feeling ‘I work’ is the hindrance. Ask yourself ‘Who works?’ Remember who you are. Then the work will not bind you; it will go on automatically. Make no effort either to work or to renounce; your effort is the bondage. What is destined to happen will happen.
If you are destined not to work, work cannot be had even if you hunt for it; if you are destined to work, you will not be able to avoid it; you will be forced to engage yourself in it. So, leave it to the higher power; you cannot renounce or retain as you choose. (Ramana Maharshi’s Gospel).

    Peace,
    Stan
